Coffee Project - Start!

For this project we were to create an effective and expressive short film on reactions to coffee.

One character was to be in a bad mood and drink good coffee, the other to be in a good mood and drink bad coffee.

The video above is just a super simple brainstorm of what I wanted to do. Simple lines, simple character designs.

I wanted to challenge myself by having one character face away from the camera for most or all of the film, and so would have to try to get their situation across through expression and body language alone.

After feedback I have decided to have the character face away from us for less time, but maybe convey their emotions indirectly, perhaps never show their face fully?

I want to experiment more with the camera view and close-ups, but stick with a simple style like above.

I quite liked the idea of having the characters look quite old-fashioned and did some research into 40's fashion for them.

I have yet to re-design them though.
